in f1 you have to qualify to defend the race the next year, and liverpool failed to qualify.


of course everyone knows that, but the media wants a "wow" story, one to shock the readers, one to make them go like sheep with a "yeah" as they dont think it through (so what happens with an odd number of teams then! etc).
