how will darling & blairs big brother state cctv work?
darling last week announced a new anti terror system to protect us from the few people who would do us harm.
the system included a cctv system that could identify suspicious mannerisms. linked with the id card database everyone's faces can be identified.
so in reality what he announced was the beginning of a system that identifies everyone that passes it, logs them, and then judges their behaviour. and logs that.
the system wont be unique to the transport system, it will soon find its way into the high street and public places.
combined with other systems such as "big fish" the bradford car number plate logging system that is found in dozens of uk cities that was seen to be working with the police woman's murder (all but one now released by the way), rfid chips in clothing and mobile phone location logs etc etc tracking anyone around town and identifying them will be automatic and easy.
does it matter that its a machine rather than a person watching, logging and judging you? 24/7 every time you pass its sensors? what happened to innocent until proven guilty?
the funny thing is if we did a test system, of a camera in peoples cars, watching if they do over the speed limit or use a mobile phone, or any other driving offence, people would soon complain and insist they were ripped out. but when the same sort of policing is done on this scale, is it too large for them to realise what it means?
