daytime tv adverts - are they meant to put you off?

daytime tv adverts, nearly all for one of 4 companies, such as rbs (directline, natwest, churchill, first active, tesco insurance etc), hbos (esure etc) and condsolidation loan groups under their retail names are really awful. they can be so bad i am sure they must actually put people off.

norwich unions quote me happy with morons, says "are like these morons if so, ring"

rbs never stop advertising, they must be the largest spender, if it isnt direct line pet, its home, if it isnt home its churchill, if its not churchill its tescos...

and esure must have annoyed the country with winner and then the mr mouse adverts.

although i care first about quality and price of any product, if it comes between 2, then the one with the least stupid advert will win!
