the secret chinese invasion - whats the police doing?

shhh it must be a secret.

last year we were told dont buy copied dvds.. they support human trafficing, terrorists and weapons of mass destruction...

well, whatever the reason, they are illegal, they are depriving the tax man tax, shops revenue, and real jobs, employment.

so why is it, every 30 minutes at least 1 chinese person made his (and sometimes her) way through the pub during the fa cup final, smiling and offering "deeveedee" from a big bag.

at least 100 of the latest blockbusters, and clearly illegal for distribution in the uk hardcore porn.

now at £20 a pop, that means he has £2000 of nicked stuff in his bag.

if i had £2000 worth of nicked stuff i would be arrested in minutes. so whats keeping plod from these people?

it cant be because they are hard to investigate, they stand out a mile. they walk around the pubs like clockwork, and at least one of them i have seen coming in every week for months.

so, whats the real reason they are allowed to so easily break the law?

blairs leaving speech - what a load a tosh

so he says the british people are great. yes, great, like "gmt" - something the world knows is reliable...

and thats why blair is a ****.

because he took that world belief, and mis-used it to sell an illegal war in iraq.

something that will haunt those great british people for decades.

blair might be gone after just 10 years, but the problems he has caused will go on much much longer - and you just thought it was brown and his pension theft that would mess up your future in many years to come!

herr brown elect, smiles and smiles

andrew marr (today's sunday am, bbc1) did ask him some truthful questions, and brown, smiled through them like he is on some weird happy drug.
until it sunk in, that perhaps he shouldnt be smiling through the subjects he was being asked about.

he was rightly asked, why he packaged a "2p cut" in taxes in the budget, as if it was a cut when in fact there was in total little change, brown defendedhimself by saying people were warned at the start it would be fiscally neutral, and that the changes he announced earlier on, paid for the announcement he made at the end.

but thats the whole point! he sold a pup, he packaged a non event to confuse people into thinking it was better than it was, to the point of it being something it wasnt.

do people really want such a clear liar, someone so hell bent on screwing people who cant think things through as a leader?

next on the entertainment channel : madeleine the search

i understand the public interest in this story, but i serously doubt the intentions of the media in its 24/7 reporting and style.

a decade or two ago, we would have had an hourly update on the radio news, but the majority of the news would be the 6pm or 9pm main story and the morning papers.

now we have the news is entertainment format news. 24/7 news stations all fighting for ratings.

and that means step up the minute by minute search for controversy. they analyse the police every move, taking up their valuable time and resourses. i bet the police have had to employ for each officer searching and investigating, 2 to deal with all the media requests.

and then there is the reward money. why does that seem to increasingly make the news like formula 1? now we have a tv audience friendly picture of a small blonde girl smiling in still pictures, an angel for the silly viewers who i expect also cry watching corrie or eastenders when a storyline turns sad... and the virtual logos all around her from the £2.5m of concerned "groups" offering money for info leading to the safe return etc...

i am very sad for the parents, who forgot they owed more care to their child than they gave at the time (sadly times have changed from the days when people believed they could get away with what they did)

but i am even more sad for the state of the media, and the state of the people who demand it

vista still doesnt plug and play

the box said "vista" but the cd didnt, the website had some new drivers but.....

hauppauge! you bastards!

so i have wintv2000, picking up 67+ freeview channels (although not with that stupid little aerial that comes with the tv stick)... but in vista media centre mode? no, nothing. doesnt even take more than a second to say "scanned, nothing"

no wonder vista is the safest, i doubt the virys writers can get anything that runs on it either!

however one good thing... norton free trial ran out, but avast! is now vista ready (and working nicely)... while comodo still doesnt have a vista fiewall, so i have installed, and like, pc tools free firewall+

and as pc tools firewall+ worked so well, the forgetful comodo firewall on my desktop was replaced too.

avast and pc tools... its the future!
